Parafunciones orales en estudiantes de una universidad pública

Resumo

Objetivo: Identificar los factores que se asocian a la presencia de parafunciones orales en estudiantes universitarios de Tacna, 2021. Metodología: La investigación es de tipo descriptivo, prospectivo y transversal. El estudio se realizó en una muestra de 393 estudiantes universitarios de pregrado, seleccionados mediante un muestreo probabilístico estratificado, a quiénes se les aplicó el cuestionario autoreportado Listado de hábitos orales (OBC). El cuestionario fue sometido a pruebas de validez y confiabilidad, obteniendo valores adecuados. Resultados: La prevalencia de parafunciones orales fue del 80,9 %, y fue mayor en estudiantes de sexo femenino (84,0 %) y de la Facultad de ciencias agropecuarias (92,8 %), presentaron parafunciones 183 que se encontraban en el rango de 17 a 20 años, 314 de estado civil soltero y 122 del primer año. Se halló una asociación estadísticamente significativa entre las parafunciones orales y el año de estudios (p=0,037) y la facultad de estudios (p=0,041). Conclusiones: La facultad a la que pertenecen y el año de estudios que cursaban se asoció con la presencia de parafunciones orales en los estudiantes de pregrado de la Universidad Nacional Jorge Basadre Grohmann de Tacna.
