Rasgos de personalidad y adherencia al tratamiento en personas con diabetes mellitus tipo 2: una revisión narrativa

Resumen
El objetivo de esta revisión fue sintetizar la evidencia disponible de los estudios realizados sobre los rasgos de la personalidad que están asociados a una mayor o menor adherencia al tratamiento en personas con la diabetes mellitus tipo 2. La revisión se realizó a través de la búsqueda electrónica de diversos artículos científicos relacionados con el tema. La fuente de búsqueda fue PubMed, ScienceDirect y SCOPUS. Se seleccionaron los artículos publicados desde el 1 de enero de 2020 hasta el 31 de agosto de 2025. En la revisión de los artículos, se seleccionaron 10, según el objetivo del estudio y la elección de los autores. Luego se revisaron los artículos completos según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Se concluye que los rasgos de personalidad ejercen una influencia en la adherencia al tratamiento y el autocuidado en personas con diabetes mellitus tipo 2, con el neuroticismo actuando como un inhibidor consistente, mientras que la responsabilidad y la apertura emergen como facilitadores clave para mejorar el manejo de la enfermedad.
